Spa Valley Railway Tours & Tastings
A day out to remember
The combination of a nostalgic steam train ride through the Wealden countryside with a vineyard tour and tasting. You'll spend time sipping wine and strolling through the vineyards before heading back to Tunbridge Wells West.
Description
Description
Travel to Groombridge in style with The Spa Valley Railway and take a 35 minute walk through the countryside to get to Birchden Vineyards.
Once you arrive, we will take you on a stroll around our beautiful property whilst enjoying our lovely wines.
3 x 75ml glasses:
- The Gregarious Goose - still Bacchus white
- The Foxy Vixen - still Pinot Noir rosé
- The Charmed Finch - sparkling Pinot Noir rosé
The tour will last approximately 60 - 90 minutes and will involve a walk in the vineyard on uneven (and sometimes wet) ground, so please come with suitable footwear and clothing for the weather.
We will finish the tour in the Tasting Den, where you can enjoy your favourite wines by the glass or bottle alongside coffee and crêpes, charcuterie, cheese and grilled vegetable boards. The perfect way to end a magical day.
Non drinkers attending a tour will still need to buy a ticket, but we can offer them a choice of soft drinks or apple juice. Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead.
Please note you will need to book your Spa Valley train ticket separately via their website. Click here to book your train tickets

After your tour, ease into the afternoon by sipping a chilled glass of our bacchus, rosé, or sparkling. Make it a special experience with a cheese and charcuterie board from the Weald Smokery, opt for the vegetarian option, or perhaps try a few nibbles.
We have covered outdoor seating when the sun is shining, but as we are in England, the Tasting Den is always on standby for those chillier, rainier days.
The last train back to Tunbridge Wells is at 16:16, make sure you keep an eye on the time!

I loved the 3 different locations to taste the wines - especially the cosy cabin - thanks for getting the fire going! The lunch cheese and meat board was delicious! (Loved the homemade hummus).
