The Spa Valley Railway

Step off at Groombridge Station and enjoy a 40-minute countryside walk to Birchden Vineyards, where we'll be waiting to welcome you for a guided vineyard tour and tasting of our award-winning English wines — a lovely way to spend the day, without ever needing the car!

Train tickets must be booked separately. Please check the Spa Valley Railway timetable before booking your vineyard experience. The countryside walk includes uneven ground and stiles, so suitable footwear is recommended.

Who says picnics are just for summer? At Birchden Vineyards, we believe there's something rather lovely about a picnic whatever the time of year.

Our vintage hampers are filled with delicious locally sourced food, ready for you to settle in, slow down and enjoy a little time together in the beautiful countryside.

From long, lazy summer afternoons to crisp autumn days and cosy winter escapes, there's always a reason to pack a picnic. And with sheltered spaces for when the British weather has other ideas, you can enjoy a little countryside magic all year round.

Children's Immersive Mystery Trail

Pre-booked tickets required. Designed for children aged 3–9, with younger and older siblings very welcome to join the adventure.

Step into the story and become a Harvest Moon Explorer on our actor-led immersive adventure through the vineyard.

Meet the Keeper of the Vineyard and decorate your own Harvest Moon Key to take home. Adults will also get a key to join the crafting fun!
Set off through the vineyard to find the three missing pieces of the Key.
Choose your own pumpkin and decorate it in the Autumn Magic Barn.
Finish by toasting marshmallows in the Autumn Magic Barn.

Every weekend in October and during Half Term 28th - 31st October. No ticket required, just turn up! Food and activities can be purchased on the day.

Autumn at Birchden Vineyards

Autumn has arrived at Birchden Vineyards, with plenty to see, experience and taste as the vineyard turns golden. Join us for bird watching amongst the vines, seasonal yoga, our Bee Show and our Autumn Magic barn.
Our cosy indoor café is also serving Chef Tommy's autumn menu, with delicious brunches and lunches made using seasonal ingredients — perfect after a crisp autumn walk.
From family days out and autumn events to good food, great wine and cosy afternoons, there are plenty of reasons to visit Birchden Vineyards this autumn.

Bird Watching Morning at Birchden Vineyards

Saturday 7th November 9:00am - 10:30am

Are you looking for a fun family activity this month? Join us for a morning of bird spotting around the vineyards and lakes, guided by our resident bird expert Siobhan.
Ticket price includes a hot drink and pastry, bird checklist, and a welcome talk. There are over 48 species on our land, see how many you can spot!
Children are very welcome, we will have a bird watchers checklist and quiz. We do not provide binoculars so please bring your own if you have some.

Painting Among the Vines with Gabriel Knollys

6th November 10am - 1pm

Join an immersive outdoor oil painting workshop in the vineyard with local artist Gabriel Knollys.
Surrounded by rolling vines, woodland and lakes, you’ll
explore colour, light, texture and pattern while painting in nature. With Gabriel’s expert, encouraging guidance, you’ll build confidence as you work and leave not only refreshed and inspired, but with a finished painting to take home, something uniquely yours and genuinely worth hanging on the wall.

The Paella Supper Club

Join us in the Autumn Barn for a Spanish-inspired evening of freshly cooked paella, Birchden wines, local beers and live acoustic guitar, with delicious nibbles, local cheeses and our very own honey.
