Our Menus

Things have changed at Birchden Vineyards. Alongside our outdoor deck, we now have a cosy indoor café where you can settle in for brunch, lunch, coffee and cake — come rain or shine.

Join us from 9am for our brunch rolls, stay for lunch with artisan baguettes, homemade soup and sharing boards, or discover Chef Tommy’s seasonal specials, served Wednesday to Sunday. And, of course, there’s always plenty of coffee, cake and something sweet.

There’s no need to book, dogs on leads are very welcome indoors, and families are at the heart of everything we do. So whether it’s pouring with rain or the autumn sun is shining, come in, get cosy and let us look after you.

Opening hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 9am–5pm | Sunday, 9am–4pm | Closed Mondays.

On Autumn Magic event days, we’ll be keeping The Blackbird Café open until 6pm, so you can stay a little longer and enjoy the autumn atmosphere.

Our handcrafted English wines are the perfect companion to everything on The Blackbird Café menu. Whether you're sipping a chilled glass of our elegant Foxy Vixen Rosé or the crisp, refreshing Gregarious Goose Bacchus, every glass is made to be enjoyed alongside great food and good company.

Even if you can’t join one of our guided tours, you can still discover our wines at your own pace with a self-guided tasting flight in the café. Enjoy three 75ml pours of our wines, take your time over each one and discover your favourite.

Autumn Magic in the Barn

On Autumn Magic days, our barn across from the cafe will be transformed into a cosy autumn gathering place, filled with pumpkins, festoon lights and plenty of seasonal atmosphere. Come in from the autumn air, find a table and settle in with family and friends – No Autumn Magic Mystery Trail ticket is needed to join us in the Barn.

At the heart of it all will be our Bavarian BBQ, serving sizzling bratwurst with all the trimmings, alongside warming seasonal specials, autumn treats, hot drinks, pumpkin-spiced lattes, local beers and Birchden Vineyards wines from the bar.

And there’s plenty for little ones too. Choose a pumpkin to decorate in the barn and toast marshmallows by the fire – all available to purchase separately, so families can create their own Autumn Magic visit even if they’re not joining the ticketed Mystery Trail on the Vineyard.

Birchden Vineyards is just 10 minutes outside Tunbridge Wells and 1 hour from London Bridge or Charing Cross train stations. We are a 35 minute walk from the Groombridge train station through the countryside.

From Tunbridge Wells train station we are a quick 10-minute taxi ride away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
