It's only the start of February, but it’s possible we may have we already peaked!
We were so delighted when Vineyard magazine called out of the blue and asked if we wanted to do a feature with them. As luck would have it, the editor had spotted our wines for sale in Fullers Farm Shop in Tunbridge Wells and contacted us wanting to find out more.
Of course, saying “yes” was a no-brainer and, before we knew it, Rebecca the editor and Martin from Countrywide Photographic were here being whizzed around the vineyard in our gator for the grand tour.
It was a real pleasure to show them the land and Tasting Den and talk in depth about our journey into winemaking, and our future plans for Birchden Vineyards.
We started reading Vineyard magazine in 2020 when we began farming and it has been a staple in our house ever since as we got to grips with the pruning, frost management and harvesting. We simply could not have been without it as a guide and introduction to the industry, so it’s very surreal for us to now be gracing the front cover!
The fact that they wrote “Birchden Vineyards embodies the very essence of a boutique vineyard” well, that is the icing on the cake.
It’s a helpful reminder of how far we have some since 2020, and it’s going to spur us on to keep doing what we’re doing. Onwards and upwards as they say.
